A Library of Stories, Old and New

Willowjak began as a collective blog, bringing together friends and writers sharing their experiences with caregiving, parenting, mental health, life transitions, ageing, authenticity, and everything in between.

For many of us, writing was also a form of catharsis. A place to process life’s challenges, celebrate small victories, work through difficult emotions, and make sense of the unexpected. Sometimes we wrote to help others. Sometimes we simply needed to get the words out. Along the way, we discovered that sharing our stories could help someone else feel a little less alone.

Our library includes more than 300 articles dating back to 2020. While some stories reflect a different time or circumstance, the lessons, perspectives, humour, and inspiration within them can still speak to the challenges we face today. Sometimes the most meaningful insight comes from someone whose journey looks nothing like our own.

As Willowjak enters its next chapter, this library is evolving with a renewed focus on disability, caregiving, autism, navigating support systems, and planning for adulthood. New stories, resources, and practical guidance are on the way.

Please note: Some older articles reflect information, programs, or policies available at the time of publication. Details relating to government benefits, funding, legislation, and health care may have changed. We encourage readers to verify current information with official sources.
