Twenty years can change a lot.

Although Kevin and I have been friends for almost forty years, life took us down very different paths. Careers, families, and everyday life meant we weren’t part of each other’s daily worlds for a long time.

When we finally sat down to catch up, Kevin realized he knew very little about the life I’d been living as a single mom raising three children through autism, disability, mental health challenges, addiction, advocacy, grief, and everything that comes with it.

He started asking questions.

Real questions.

The kind many people think about but don’t always know how or whether they should ask.

Those conversations quickly became something bigger.

We realized that if one lifelong friend had never really understood this world, there were probably thousands of other people who wanted to understand it too.

So we turned our conversations into a podcast.

Not because we have all the answers.

But because honest conversations create understanding, connection, and hope.
